FCUK IT, I quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: December 06, 2007, 06:32 AM »
After seeing this bike (albeit an mtb) it makes me wonder why us mere mortals build bikes  :idiot2:

it has THE most attention to detail I have ever seen on a bike, truly amazing  :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley:

full story here:-

its nice, but not than nice  :(

a funky white fram with a spash of red even distributed. after its been down the woods it wont look so bling, especially when its been crashed and the lever and pedals are scufffed!  :'(

calm down dingo and look at some of your own builds  :daumenhoch:  :daumenhoch:

i have to say i don't really like it....sorry  :-\   those forks look horrible and i wouldn't call it a MTB at all, not even a single speed one.  it does have some very bits though like the stem, hubs and touches like the pedals and brake lever but other than that??

sorry........... :-\

it's clean, but what is it? a 26" or 24" wheeled jump bike?

it's not a DS bike is as there's no suspension forks.

it's not a trials as there's no front brake.

must be a jump bike, it's got clean lines, it's not bad, but I don't think it's great.

an old school bmx can be made to look better.

The workmanship that went into that is awesome.

Would be cooler for it to be a BMX though ;)

Seen that bike a few times on various mountain bike forums.

It looks trick, but seems like an exercise in form over function.

Your S&M Neal Wood is nicer, Mark.

OK, I just looked through the linked thread. There is way more to that bike that I thought and it is very nice. The best bit was the pics of the dude actually riding it, and getting some air over a hip too! Very cool.

Constrictive point: Why didnt he make the fork drop outs totally enclosed like the frame drop outs are? He is using a "thro bolt" axle so he could have done. My guess is that it wont be long till Odyssey make their director forks (and others too) with enclosed drop outs (holes, not slots) and they can only be used with G-sport or Vandero2 hubs. Id love the piece of mind that my front wheel will NEVER fall out, even if it was totally loose.

I think my point was missed here  ::)

I am not keen on it aesthetically what I am in awe of is the workmanship that has gone into it, look at the thread at the various pieces the guy designed and put on the bike

front and rear dropouts, headtube/stem/fork interface, stem and fitting system, hidden seatpost clamping mechanism,

to me it shows how much cleaner a bike build could be

 :) DINGO :)

p.s thanks for the props on my NW, I reckon thats as clean a build as I could do off the shelf and I want to ride it too :coolsmiley:

Odyssey did it before with their Xtro system that I am running on my Dingo, mega stiff and very noticable on the gate and when cornering

i've been watching that bike grow from the frame up the dude is a freind of tonic fab ,the guys that built my fall guy frame, there are a lot of similarities in the design,

have you checked out how the seat clamp works?

and incredible bike, the attention to detail is amazing, who wouldnt love to be able to build 75% of their bike themselves?

modified gsport?

i'm not keen on the colour etc, just not my cup of tea,i'd have left it raw :daumenhoch:
not keen on the ano finish on the industry9 hubs either,

amazing though, nothing on this forum on many of the others i've been on even comes close really, makes us look like fumbling amateurs :daumenhoch:

modified tonic fab by the same cat,
