Ok, here's what I started with... a mullered floval in need of some good old fashioned loving...





Here we go with the Nitromors....





Looking a bit better after a good old fashioned rub down with fine wire wool and autosol... (don't worry I know they are the wrong forks I've got the non stamped ones)





.. but there's still this beast to sort out....

very nice are you replacing the whole tube or just the top
as donker does a fine replacement lol

donkers the man to speak to made a complete seat tube for me ,made a fine job also came polished at no extra cost just got to find someone to weld it in  to se standard:-[

were abouts are you as a bloke near my work in canvey did mine
he hand makes car body panels in alloy
and welds ally all day

Don't worry chaps, thanks for the offers of help, but I contacted Graeme around a year ago who put me on to his talented mate Mick...

Mick lives way up in the North East but wey-hey man he knows how to work metal... this is what he did...

First an oversize piece of ally was machined from a block...



.. it was then roughly fitted to the frame....



.. tig wleded in and then ground down to size ...



.. and the slit cut in...



... pretty amazing in my opinion.....

yeah looks good but i didnt trust just having the top bit replaced
as it is still the weak point .hence why i got donker to
make me a whole new tube .so at least ive harf a chance of not breaking it
