Cassette hub maintence

Just taken my rear wheel off to change the tyre and was wondering if there is any regular maintence that should be done to the hub. I'm used to loose ball and cones so would clean and re-grease at this point.
Should I just leave alone or take the driver out and grease/oil; will it fall to pieces and dis-appear under the sofa

as grease makes the paws slip

only a drop of oil though. too much and you'll be slipping the freehub when you power down

I greased my driver ... a tiny bit. It made it so nice and quiet. BUT it almost slips now. Not much, just now and again when you lean on the pedal, it clicks. I need to clean it out and OIL it.

Think I,ve had that happen a couple of times crank just seems to slip/drop an inch or so than catches and go's, hear a noise at the same time.

that'll do it!

the best option i've found is to give it a quick spray with a teflon spray, gt85 or tf2. as it goes tacky and won't run away. but won't goo up the internals. my odyssey cassette was last done about 4 months ago and hasn't slipped once. it works a treat!

Used Snap-On air oil, nice and light lubed and quick wipe. Will see how it goes at the weekend.

Good stuff lads, i was going to post the same thing as mines been slipping and i need to give it a clean up. i'll have to nick a can of teflon spray from work

Yip.  My Macneil hub put me over the bars on one of my first rides out on it.

'This seems nice and quiet..... mmm....smooth........'  WALLOP!!!!  Straight to head....   

Anyhoo, the pawls and hub internals need to be spotless, (any grease or muck makes the pawls stick down, which is yer slip....) and a drop of light oil on each pawl will do it.  There is a reason why modern hubs are so damn noisy - I hate that.  Grrr.......

Degrease and apply a Pawl oil, Mavic do one, any road bike shop should have some
