Here is a Slam bar story I heard a while ago:
S&M asked the (stupid) people who were making Slam bars at that time to lower the cross bar by a few inches. They welded it on lower, but didn’t cut it any shorter, so they bent the bars less to accommodate it. This resulted in some crazy wide slams with a real lazy bend. I think the problem was solved on the next batch, but it helps to show how there are a few strange shaped Slam bars around. This event might also have attributed to why S&M started making their handlebars in-house.
