Gossa was saying about some place in Poole that does it that's supposed to be the dogs.  You might just get away with a good polish on that as there's no obvious peeling.  You can get new bolts in chrome too including the main stem bolt that holds it to the shaft, I have one in chrome on my blue one  :daumenhoch:

As above, you should get away with a good polish on that one  :daumenhoch:
Need to use some wet n dry or an oilstone to get rid of the pitting but it will come up a treat with a little effort.

Fook me is that a chrome one ?

if it is its the only one i have ever seen ??

and its an early square cornered one , very nice , do not wet and dry it as thats only for alloy
Peek , carefully with autosol as its a tad harsh, wonder chrome or silvo

should come up a treat

maybe re chrome the bolts but the stem should come up a treat

i love polishing alloy bits, but it takes a lot of the definition away on nice sharp edged square corner tuf necks. Get it chromed, it will be worth it in the end. :daumenhoch:

The guy in poole won't chrome alloy, not many chromers will.

There seems to be a bit of a mystery about chroming alloy.......

chrome and alloy dont actually stick ,even thou we see it all over the place ,it will come of with weathering and scratching
i like the chrome on alloy but as you say they dont like doing it as people tent to complain when it goes wrong.

Well this is the mystery see, my chromer says he won't do it and how it's so bad but we've all got chromed araya's/ukais/dc calipers & clamps/suzue hubs that still have great chrome after 20 years.

The alloy oxidises underneath the chrome and causes it to flake/peel.  Polishing alloy to chrome like finish is better.  Like Gossa says, most chromers won't chrome alloy; I was told it's really difficult to do and get consistent results plus the chemicals you need are really hard to get hold of and far worse for you than the stuff they use for chroming .
