« on: November 14, 2007, 10:36 PM »
Hi,
This will probably make me  look like a right muppet,  :idiot2:  and i know my missus think's I am.. but how the hell can you tell if a bike take's a US or Euro bb?

From a confused 1st time builder   :crazy2:   My 1st build should be nice, hoping I can do so by xmas 2012!!

Building lark's driving me to an early grave, and i haven't even bleedin' ridden the bike yet!!   :uglystupid2:

Help and kindness appreciated.

A US Bottom Bracket is the 'Old School' standard, i.e. large cups that press into the bottom bracket on the frame and look like this (this is for a 1 piece crankset)

A Euro Bottom Bracket is a lot smaller and has a thread on (the bottom bracket on the frame also has a thread) this screws into the frame and looks similar to this.

There are a few differences (without going into Spanish BB etc), but that is a simple explanation.
