is there anything i can do??
« on: November 07, 2007, 04:08 PM »
a couple of weeks ago i won a prolite F+F on ebay.
i was over the moon it was the trackmaster xs and still had the
original smoked chrome finish :smitten:
anyway i asked the guy several questions prior to bidding and he checked the frame and answered no
problem
but as soon as the auction ended he emailed me saying that he couldn't get to the frame
because it was his friends bike and it was in his garage and he'd just gone off travelling
for months ::) ::)
i reckon he doesn't want to let it go because i won it for £50 and he wanted more for it.
but isn't that what a reserve is for >:(
Ive tried calling his bluff and told him i will pay and dont mind waiting but he keeps telling me not to
pay for it.
this has really p*ssed me off because ive been after one of these frames since
i got back into the scene and they are not that desirable they are just sentimental to me
as they were the mark i loved as a kid :(
is there anyway i can get him to honor the sale?? ?? ??

not much you can do.

unless is an ebay regular and values his feedback nothing you can do will bother him.

yeah you could report him to ebay, they might suspend his account, but if he's not bothered about
his feedback then it's no great loss for him.

hes only got a feedback of 21 so i dont think its going to bother him at the moment.
im trying to keep it civil in the hopes he realises that im not going to go away
that easy and lets me have it. ;)
he has got a few bit on the bay now so hope others dont get the same treatment :Aresehole:
normally this sort of thing doesn't bother me but ive been after one of these for so long i
thought id struck gold :-[ :-[ :-[

he won't get his account suspended.  he'll just get a tick on his account (i think he needs three before he's suspended).  the worst that will happen is that you give him negative feedback and if he don't give a sh*t about that, then there's nothing you can do.  going by the law of e-bay you should get it, but in reality apparently you can't force anyone to sell you anything.  it's a right bugger as i'm sure he'd be up in arms if he had it to sell and you didn't pay up as you were about to go travelling for a few months.

The thing you will have to be careful about if you do decide to pay for it, is that if is genuinely is locked away for months and you pay for it, you'll be past the paypal deadline for trying to claim it back.  If he decides to accept your money, tell him you'll send him a cheque as you don't have enough funds in your paypal account right now, that way you'll at least have his address.  But don't send him it.  After you've got his address, then tell him you've now sold something and you now have the funds available in paypal.

That's out of order a deals a deal he should honour it you won it fair and square. I guess if you are really desperate for it you could always try and bung him a few more quid for it although you really shouldn't have to.

Alternatively my way would be to shoot him in the face :2gunsfiring_v1: but that's no help really.
