GHP build advice wanted please
« on: October 31, 2007, 06:17 PM »
aye up, building a GHP to my bike spec BITD (albeit different colour scheme) thing is i did have redlines on for a while BITD but bent them quite quickly n so went back to the takagi one peice which i loved, its got twin pinch newies on at the mo but do you think it would be a better build with the era correct one peice or the new twin pinch flights? its not gonna get rode in anger and im quite aware of the strength differences between the two cranks, just wondering which option you think would make it the better build.

if i was gonna abuse it then i wouldnt be but i don't think its gonna ride well enough for me to abuse so im lettin it off lightly and tryin to build at least one bike properly for a change, just the one mind.

hey, Lee Alexander raced in anger on a OPC forever mate so don't underestimate the strength!

I can tell you that when I had 401's in the eighties I completely tore one arm in half and bent axles like nobodies business!

Oh, those elf goodies are actually now in a jiffy bag, that's progress!

Personally I'm not a fan of the newer cranks on the older bikes so I would go with the single :daumenhoch:

I had Flights BITD & all my builds have some type of  3pc cranks, but Im starting to think I might get 1pc crank & do a build with it  :-\

As for the GHP, its got to be Flights  :)
