lovely bike. shame about losing that original finish, but i'm not your dad so you can do what the hell you like. :LolLolLolLol: i am one of them purists who will keep a decent finish on a bike if it has one and keep it survivor.

I know what your saying JT, however there were a few dings in it that had to be repaired, drop outs need cleaning up. I'm also coming around to the survivor finish thing....I've built about 10 bikes and they have all been restored to as new condition, however I just received a Cook Bros which is in unbeleivable survivor condition, so it is getting a polish and a new decal set and that is it.

Very sweet build, I had one the same colour and with chrome forks too for a while bitd - the frame cracked  :(.

Changing to skinwall Comp 3's (Tioga or Cheng Shin) would save a bit from the weight as those gumwalls must weigh some  :daumenhoch:

Really nice build and probably a pretty rare frame now, nice to see something without flites or Profiles and the chrome forks and bars look the mutts nuts so I would leave them alone  :daumenhoch:

I had 2 of those BITD but both went behind the headstock gusset, nice bikes when they were in one piece though.
Why oh why do I still buy kids bikes!

I had one that colour bitd that only weighed 18 lbs as a complete bike, but it still cracked, and to make matters worse the importer of the time, which I think was Gecko, didn`t give any warranty on alloy frames  :(

As you can see I had the forks that were the same colour as the frame, although I think I prefer the chrome  :daumenhoch:

Thanks for your old photo's, it's nice to see one in action. Shame it cracked, but they are exceptionally light.

I can see how you would get down to 18lbs, mine has full sized GT bars and kashimax seat and DX cranks. I think if I swapped them out for a UNI seat, alloy bars and some sugino cranks, it would also be around 18lbs! I think you guys have convinced me to keep the chrome fork/bar combo...
