Raleigh Juicer bike test from 1999
« on: October 15, 2007, 12:29 PM »

There have been a few threads about the Raleigh Juicer over the last few weeks. Seeing the frame rang a few bells with me but I didn’t know why. Well, I was in the loft yesterday and found a copy of “Total Bike” from 1999, a magazine that I never read, but a friend of mine did work for. I had a flick through, thinking there must be a reason I had this copy, and found this picture of me. I had forgotten all about riding this bike for my mate. Maybe I had “chosen” to forget! Haha. I remember now that is was freezing cold, and we were at a very crap small skatepark not far from my house. Gotta love those bars!

I didnt wanna change anything on it, I just did a few tricks and my mate took the snap shots. Still, it kept my slacks nice and clean!

If you look at the smaller pic of just the bike, there is nothing holding it up. I held the bike, and my mate got the camera all focused and stuff, then on the count of 3 I just let go (and moved my hand out of the shot). He took the pic and then the bike just fell to the floor. We did it several times, just to make sure he got the shot. Very funny watching it just hit the deck each time!

Yep, that was me! It wasnt a fake name, its just one of the many nick names that Ian Oz has for me (its Ian who has worked for verious cycling mags). I am trying to find the shots of me riding my 24". When I do I will scan them and get up on here.

Oh, and steve? Does is count being a whore if I didnt get paid for it????

the juicer was tested in ride mag too iirc

looks funky now but was typical of low qual bikes of the day!
