Who was it that jumped 4 cars, think they was Ford Fiesta's; without a run in ramp, just pedaled on the flat. It's not my memory playing tricks on me is it someone did this in the 80's.

I used to do a few freestyle demos with the Scotia team back in the mid '80's.  My team-mate Paul McCracken had seen Andy P's jump and decided to have a go.  He ended up jumping 6 cars at Powderhall Stadium in Edinburgh, again from the flat, no massive roll-in ramps.  I was 14 at the time and I decided that I could do that too, so I did.  I threw a 52T roadbike chainring on my new '84 Haro Master and, when Paul and I were doing a demo at Meadowbank Stadium as part of the Maxwell House Roadshow (a sports roadshow sponsored by Maxwell House) we set up some cars on the running track.  The cars were owned by the Scotia Team.  On that day Paul and I jumped 4 cars, ramp to ramp from a flat run up, on a running track.  I felt really happy that, at 14, I had matched Andy P's jump  :)  The date was 14th May 1985.  (not that I remember like!  ;))Happy days.

Heres an early pic of me jumping the bmx weekly van, myself and Andy used to do car jumps in our demos, with no landing ramp.... crunch onto the flat!!
I was meant to be on the "just amazing " thing with Andy but i bottled it at the last minute and said i was ill..Not much room for error if you study the clip. How skinny is the takeoff ramp and landing? Even if Andy stunned the crown jewels on landing he was still the King..

Back to Caesars Palace..... and a spot of progression for you.  Or is it evolution???

What makes this special for those of you not into FMX, is that this was the first 3rd gear flip done over a conventional ramp type deal. Most of the ones you see are done in 1st gear, occasionally 2nd....

Mike Metzger.  He loves it   ;)
