My Evil plan ... foiled.
« on: October 06, 2007, 01:18 PM »
I have had this evil plan in my mind for a while now, and since Iwas in so much conflict and lack of time I have given up on it.
My plan was to try and build a bike up for CIN , then bring it over on the train from sweden (as i dont fly) but the build was gonna be something different and I didnt know if once it was done if i would appreciate or if others who saw it would understand the sarcasm of the build.
Basically we have seen allot of lovely frames being cut up to make bike stands, 16" pit versions etc .... and while there is a fun aspect to these builds and not entirley sure if I appreciate them.
My plan was simple, I wanted to find a build a jad bike and make 1 major modification to the frame and that being, to cut the down tube in half and add a hindge so hat I could have the worlds first foldable jad bike.
I thought this would be fairly fitting to the style of the frame and make life easier if i was to come over for the event on the train.

Unfortuantly my plan fell through and I dont have time to get everything ready , and I have also been in 2 minds whether or not I agreed with this form of humor as I wondered if anyone else would understand my own internal form of humor.
So my question is this, if I had made a 20" foldable jad (aka a shopping bmx) would it have been viewed in your eyes as sacrilegious ?

Skyway started with bmx Dan, then moved into other stuff. BMX is a sideline now though as you said.

If it would make you feel any better ... build up the uncut Jad frame and ride it for about half an hour. It will only take about that long for the top tube to snap and then you can add the hinge, to "fix" it  :LolLolLolLol:

YGT, you don't have to limit your idea to an ugly JAD.

You could make any BMX bike into a "folding" bike with S&S Couplings.

Not necessarily the most BMX thing to do to a BMX bike, but you have good reason, so why not?!
