revised STA
« on: October 07, 2007, 12:46 PM »
Howdy been a while as i been out riding in this freakishly warm autumn up here, rebuilt the sta again lot of small part changes that amounted to a near on total rebuild, whats new -      new primo 6061 rim/homer 48 with 15 tooth ac racing 888 cog,
                                     new 40 tooth tree sprocket
new marmoset /primo 6061 front wheel to match the  back
                                     S&M logo grips black
fit cranks black instead of the chrome profiles
                                     white hamilton pedals
brickhouse flat stem solid enough for street these are lovely
shadow little ones pegs(not in picies)
thats it , one heavy ass brakeless street pounder!!

Yeah ,never really gave much thought to how the brickhouse looked on there, but now that you mention it, it does look a little odd.  I guess its  just because i ride this all the time  and love how responsive  and easy it is, to get over into nose manuals. I am not a big fan of  hang leg manuals  so shorter stem solves that prob, at least for me.

yeah i kinda had delusions of getting this thing down to 27 pounds  :idiot2:  but quickly realised that this girl deserved to be made tougher than leather, i think she's 32 pounds and i actually love how stable it is in the air on gaps, solid like a sofa.

96-95 werelike mkII as they had the extra gussets on the top of TT and the downtube..  for mkIII/IV they got rid of them i think, slimmed the dropouts a fair bit, then onto seatstay brake bosses.  i LOVED my STAs. wouldn't mind having them back!

Na, S&M only since 1991!

They aint standard forks. It will probably be frame only (although there are some other parts on the bike that might be up for sale (wheels, seat n post, brake)
