BMX spotting!
« on: October 04, 2007, 01:41 PM »
Like me, do you sneakily look at what BMX's people are riding when you are out and about?

Usually they are not even worth giving a second glance to but today I was driving to a meeting (Cos im ded important )

When I saw a lad riding along the pavement on a pretty beatup TNT Hwa Fong Daddy!

Cool  :daumenhoch:

i always look at bikes when they ride past me, or i drive past them.........although with the kids round my way you can normally hear their bikes a mile away with the squeeking of non oiled chains and clunking of cheap loose baring Halfords full suss bikes  :buck2:

Last week i saw two kids ride past, one on a Diamond back (maybe a Viper) and one on a similar aged Mongoose.

About a year ago I saw a Standard Lengthy ride past, super pros and everything. I know the guy who used to own it, but it was an 11 year old girl who was riding it.

The top one that has been seen a few times around Oxford is a VDC Changa. I saw it a few times in the early 90s but the kid didnt wanna stop (even tho I shouted at him). It has been seen a few times over the last few years. One mate saw it locked up on a main road. I told him he should have stood by it and offered the owner £50 for it. I know who that used to belong to; a bouncer at one of the clubs in town.

I've just driven home and have never seen so many kids on bikes since the 80's - everywhere I looked, packs of a dozen or so yoofs, all on bikes, but mainly shitter BMX's

My neck aches from trying to spot a 'diamond in the rough'   :LolLolLolLol:

I do it all the time, there's a couple of good ones being ridden round Hounslow where I work and I've seen a youngish kid (early 20's!) riding a red frame, chrome forks couldn't make out what it was but he had Gen 2 profiles on it and polished araya aero's, very clean and very nice round by Hillingdon Hospital a few times.

Should have just run them over Matt  :daumenhoch:

Always on the lookout,

I only got into OS bmx's because i accidently stumbled upon a DB turbo a few months back in a ratty old secondhand shop.

Ive since had a mk2 aero pro, and a midschool s&m HAF (gsport parts) at the local car boot.

also a mint 1" built up dirtbike in the classifieds.

its all out there!

I saw a kid on a 80's gt, really rare lookin polished stem, mx1000's with weinmann adjusters. all minty fresh.

tried to ask casually if he'd sell it, but he seemed to want to finish his paer round so I ceased creeping him out.

whilst at tescos the other day there was  homeless guy hanging around
outside with the obligatory "dog on a piece of string" ::)
he had with him a really old knackered shopper type bike that looked like he'd
pulled out of a lake ;D
but as i walked pasted him the stem caught my eye.
it had a early tuff neck fitted and painted black
i was going to approach him but the wife pulled me away :2funny: :2funny:

more interesting thing i had was in thailand last year and a homeless guy rode past on a pk ripper looptail with basket bolted on the back . nearly thought about offering money for it but then thought he  uses it more than if bought over here and just sat in a garage and hardly used
