Just done my press-ups, two sets of 10 then one set of 12, and fook me its even hard to type  :crazy2:

They soon get easier, I do 40 in a go in the morning and evening, and try and do about 5 miles on my bike at least twice a week.  All I need to do is quit the cigs now and I will be kicking arse in the winter series

Yeah I know they get easier, I was doing 2 sets of 15 then a set of 20 about a year ago, but once you miss a couple of sessions it gets hard again, mind you I do use those push up bars because my wrists hurt otherwise, so you already start about 8 inches off the floor, then extend right down so that your nose touches the floor  :crazy2:

24 mph average  bill thats fast i mean pro rider fast  i do spinning twice a week and circuit training once a week and get out for 30 milers when i can , and would struggle to keep that speed up for 20 mins  on anything but a totally flat surface  , you need more resistance mate , go to a couple of spinning classes  youll get the idea of how to train indoors  :daumenhoch:

Yeah I must admit that was only on no. 4 of 10, I used to be able to do more on no.5 but have let it slide for quite a while  :(

Best training for me is just riding my bike as much as possible.

I'm gonna try to ride 2 classes at every race I attend over winter as I did that at Bournemouth and it hurt at the time, but I felt good/stronger afterwards.

I'm back in Winter training too, cycling as much as possible on weekends, then Tues and Thursday eves run to the gym, do weights and run back home 2 miles each way. Sunday down at MK then a nice long run in the evening with my sis as pacemaker.
Hooga ,drop the fags and you'll really notice a difference. I did about 3 weeks ago now. I haven't wanted one since but I had to lock myself in the house for the first week in case I attacked someone.
PS Spliffs don't count ;D

bill you should go to some spinning classes and learn about the heart zones and how to build and develop your training sessions at home or on the road  , they have benefited my health no end before i went i was pretty sure i was at a decent level of fitness doing regular long rides and circuit training but i was suprised how much the classes helped my riding , its hard to get motivated on you own to work , really you should aim to be training for around 45 mins , it takes 10- 12 mins for your body to reach threshold where you can really train where it counts   , TBH i get more out of the classes now than i do on the road

visit www.indoorgroupcycling.com for more info on cycling training and the heart zones  :daumenhoch:

Get yourself a good ol set of rollers or a Turbo Bill. Get yourself fit first, before you start putting your heartrate through the roof. Stick to 65% of your max heartrate to fat burn and for conditioning (not saying your fat!) get your heartrate up when you start  interval training nearer the start of the season and you have a good base fitness.

And dont forget loads of Guinesss   ;)
