I could be wrong and probably am, but it looks like it has a round hole in the gusset, The bike I had as a kid was a TORKER MAGNUM 200 and that had a round hole. I thought the 280 had an oval gusset hole????

have zoomed in and its a fair point....anyone got any clues?

the dude says he's the original owner, so he must have bought it new like that......

That's a Torker MX with the round hole in the gussett not a 280X It has the wrong stickers on it so it's probably earlier than 82 more like 1980ish.

yip yip, the early 280x came with a round gusset but they changed it cos it kept cracking  :daumenhoch:
