The picture quality isn't very good as they where taken with my phone and not much light but you get the idea.

Finally got the white seat I wanted to finish it and then set about her with the good old Autosol to just give it that finishing touch.

Thanks again to Rob (rarman1) for the F&F and most of the parts, thanks to Stevie (generallee) and thanks to Simon (94 performer) for the use of his bike workshop and some of the parts too, oh and for having the patience of a saint for putting up with me, I'm fussy! You're all top lads!

And a big thanks to Steve at Skatepool on ebay, bought white NOS GT seat at 3pm Thursday, arrived 10am Friday morning, top class service!

Here she is....

Looks good, you can really see the difference between that and the 84 models, much more upright angles.  BTW, are those Haro Race bars?

Lovely. So nice to see the right stickers on an 87, rather than just another Fiola rep.

pink tyres?

I've actually put them on my new school ride Phil which caused me a bit of an off on Wednesday, new tyres not bedded in and wooden bowls don't mix!

Great Gt build there fella, chrome looks super gleaming. Head tube in particular looks steeper than an earlier 84/85 model.

Wouldn't change any thing on it mate, all works well, keep it the same at least for a few months :) If you like me you'll be tweaking by then :D

Nice looking bike !
Bars are the Kneesavers race version as introduced on the 88 Group1 RS1

There not the right stickers and it's not an 87 , the bars don't look right at all , should get some GT bars and get the right stickers on it and then it will look sweet ...

Thanks for your constructive assessment!

Unless I'm miss-informed, if it has a break stay behind the BB and cable guides on the down tube, which it has, its an 87. Or perhaps you'd like to enlighten me?

The stickers are the original stickers from the factory, so if they're wrong they were fitted wrong at the time of manufacturing! Either way, they are original to the frame and they're on the original chrome so they're staying! There's not many 20 year old BMX's that still have their original chrome and stickers which is a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

As for the bars - personal choice, I like them!

Love it, looks spot on to me. Round my way in 87 the GT bars were the first thing to go, everyone ran Haros or Dynos.

This is really weird, I started work in August 1987, and with my first pay packet I bought a brand new GT Performer. The thing is, I remember it having the same sticker set as the original poster, but it had the double kinked downtube and the 990 lugs, I always thought that mine was the first GT to come with the lugs.

Anyway, here's a pic of me riding said bike in 1988

There's quite a few variations on the Performer, Pro Performer and Pro Freestyle tour bikes around that year. There's some like the one you had here, see link below.....

Cool pic and welcome by the way, shame about the trousers, was that at Mons?

it's lucky I wasn't wearing the jacket as well ;)

The ramp was in Rochford Essex, I'm just scanning some others, will embed them next time

Thanks dude, the bars are for sale if you want them - £35 plus postage. They were NOS about 4 months ago and have only been mounted on this.

Let me know matey.
