17" Top tube is an Expert. Pro's are 18.5".

Being an Expert frame, it possibly has the number 2 stamped somewhere near the serial number on the insider of the drive side rear dropout. Pro's are stamped with a 4, and Minis, or more correctly Juniors, are stamped JR.

Very nice Nic.  I look forward to banging bars with you on that, and getting it nice and dirty in the winter series

Nic that is lovely. Top job. Just got the GT mini in the post today, only took an hour to get the Uni post out.

I've got a GT Standard with an 17.5TT. I think Pros were 18.5ins, Standard 17.5, Expert 17 and Mini about 16.

I thought the Standard was the Expert. AFAIK, the range went Pro, Expert, Junior.

I have a 1983 Pro, a 1983 Expert and a 1981 Junior. The Junior has the same length top tube as the Expert, but a steeper head angle, and smaller diameter down tube, and smaller diameter fork legs.

A US collector has a really nice black 83 Junior, and a chrome 83 Expert. He confirmed the top tube lengths were the same for both.

What year is the Standard/Expert? Possibly an early one (81?)

The one I've got is a Nov 83 Standard, at least that's what I was told when I bought it early in 84. I forgot about the Juniors. But the bloke in the shop said the Standard was slightly larger than the Expert. Seat and headtube angles are still 73/73 though.

Wicked mate, I used to run those pedals and they aint that grippy.  I was digging around up at Hot WHeels the other day and i'm sure i found some urchin or dk cages for those SR's.  If you need them, call Matt Farrow.

Good job mate, peachy, Greg Hill would be proud!
