just found out about pepi, it sucks ,met him riding at carlos a few times recently.
still blew me away seeing him ride.

Very bad news. I knew pepi when I lived in Carlisle and rode with him bitd. Turns out (after I knew him) he became a very troubled character, so bad it seems, that rumours of his demise ran round the city for years after he left (I'm sure he would have found that funny!!).

Ironically the rumours predicted hom his actual demise would occur I'm sorry to say!

However it seems that very few people in Carlisle are actually aware that he has passed away. There's nothing on the evening news and star website (the local paper) and I'm sure that a lot of people would want to know about this. Remember that pepi was a big star localy bitd and to the like of myself an idol and inspiration to a lot of riders.

I'm just trying to confirm with any cumbrian/carlisle based riders if anthing has been mentioned in the local press in relation to pepi ? If not I will make contact with them tomorrow and try to get him the obituary he deserves. RIP pepi.

Its sad news and somthing should be in the local paper for sure. He was a great rider and will be greatly missed

Its tragic to be frank. I just can't believe it.

I know there's a couple of carlisle based posters on this site (think one of them might be called orb) but I don't get on here that often so I can't be sure. If so can they confirm or not whether anything has been mentioned up north about pepi. I know one or two people up there who were very close friends with pepi bitd and they didn't know!!!

absolutely.... pepi was an inspiration to many people on this site. he is an old school legend. i'm sure that most people on here would be happy to donate. let's get a proper thread going with this.
