« on: September 08, 2007, 07:05 PM »
Anyone heard of rallycross cycles?   picked a bike up today,   says rallycross cycles watford england on the front,   it a bmx with fake front shockers and a real rear swingarm with twinshocks,   has a fake fuel tank and long seat,    seams all original as far as i can see.  looks mid to late 70's  not sure could be wrong.,   also has front and rear drumbrakes.

I remember a kid near me having one in the very early 80's and it was a bit beaten then so late 70's makes sense.
    Lets see the pics..........

I'm from watford, but didn't realise those bikes were....my cousin had one of those just before we all got into real bmx's (well okay, puch murrays)..... this would be 79 or so, his was yellow..... until then the only bikes you would ride off a jump were grifters (or your mums shopper bike, which always went better than the grifter!!!)...... so anyway, at the time, my cousin had what I thought was the coolest bike, for a brief while, until the unfixable drum brakes stopped working, and I saw my first proper bmx's

oh and p.s i do have every single bit,      all in a big bag,     even the original tyres (no scuffs or skids and not prefished!!)

prob is the previous owner took the spokes out of the rims and halfords dont know how to spoke em,   i have all the spokes hubs and rims but the problem they have is that two spokes have to go into one slot.   makes it hard to build the wheel as they just fall appart,     oh and p.s anyone know a rough sorta guide price to gettin a wheel rechromed?   jus the rim and maybe spokes.
