I just went out for a little lunchtime ride at a park just round the corner from me. A long time riding mate of mine, who I now work with, brought his bike in too so I took a few pics of it. It a total "mid school" classic and has remained pretty much unchanged, and occasionally ridden, for the last 10 or so years. This will help answer some of the questions as to what people rode in the 90s, cos its all here!
The man himself, Crowman, sat on his trusty bike
What a beaut! 1" dirtbike with pitchforks. Hand painted white and black with a Holmes sticker set.
P.E. Hubs front and rear with chrome peregrine rims and V monster tyres. P.E. steel pegs, the right diameter to be level with the bottom of the drop outs and the same diameter as the steel hub cones. Both wheels laced "all to the outside"
Sprocket Pocket with a chunk cut out to clear the crank arm. Shitty spider with a home made power disk behind it for strength (power disk made from a reflective "cycle path" sign). Cranks, DX pedals and spider hand painted black ... several years ago
Nice high flagpole of a seatpost with some kind of padded seat. Home made seatclamp (from cutting off the top of a MTB seat tube with a built in seat clamp
Green shafted redneck and Kris Bennet bars. 2/3s of an S&M padset.
One of my old chain adjusters. The adjustment pushes fowards so its not in the way for grinds. Can be used with or without a peg. Cut to be flush with peg and drop outs. Machined inside face that sits inside the drop slot out to stop it closing up during grinds.
Dont Mess with the Crowbar!!!
