Tuff Luv art show- (NOW WITH PICS)
« on: September 05, 2007, 10:57 AM »
There was an art show where loads of people (mainly bike companies) decorated Tuff wheels in any way they liked. Here is what fatBMX zine said about it, and also the link to it with pics, and the Vid of it on VitalBMX. Check out that every Tuffwheel was mounted on the new prototype mono leg S&M forks ... or they were just pitchforks with one leg cut off

"Last weekend there was a artshow at SLB in Los Angeles (Pro skater Sal Barbier's shop) and it was fairly interesting to see what the possibilities are decorating a Skyway Tuff Wheel II. I personally like the wheel the way it is, but nevertheless that didn't stop anyone from doing their "art" version on the legendary Tuff Wheel. Realize it is about 100 F (37 C)in the shade, while this was the last holiday weekend in the US (Labor day). The vibes were good, sun was out and the DJ was cranking it up a notch. Oh and you can't go wrong with free beer either...  All and all I thought it was a cool concept, but I wish the presentation was done slightly different, since standing around a "Tuff Wheel Xmas tree" with a bunch of people, almost felt like you were spooning each other at one point.

After a few beers and checking out SLB's shop, which included some great classic frames and bikes, it was just good to see the people come out support the sport..."

The urban camo look gets my vote :daumenhoch:

Reckon the pics will give some Rad peeps ideas to do something different on their Tuffs ::)

That Knight one makes me wonder if anyone can do a Tuff in urban camouflage colours.

I would definitely pay for that.

S&M burnt it but also shot it with a shot gun!

Did anyone else think that one side of the Metal bikes tuff looked like that firebird that was in BMX Action bike ages ago? The one with all kinds of colours and stick on dots on it. There was a pic of it on here somewhere not long ago.

I love some of those wheels. As per my previous post in this thread, does anyone know who I could go to to get a pair of Tuff wheels painted in urban camouflage colours please?

I love that Firebird up at the top of the page. I remember that picture from BITD too.
