Just looks like another fashion trend to me. No way would i attempt modern riding with Tuff wheels on my bike! I saw/had them snap so easily in the early 90's!

They look fantastic on OS bikes but IMO have no place on today's bikes.

if you slotted one into a few pro riders frames more would go that way but not good imo

Must admit i did ride for a few months BITD with a tuff on the front and a UKAI on the rear.

I am pretty sure i saw Hoffman riding a single tuff a couple of years back too  8)

tuffs look cool, but most of us (alex is the exception here, because im sure he has the peter pan gene) are weighing slightly more than we did in the 80's, and tuffs aint gonna last long with a fat fook like me on em.

but the do look good

plus if you buckle em you can stick em in the freezer.

it wont straighten em, but it pisses the wife off so well worth it

Dave
haro, how do you do

tuffs are ok for just riding around on but for serious riding it's like riding on jellytots  :2funny:

I've got the new Graphite Tuffs on my OS race bike (SE Assassin).

I didn't notice the wheels flexing at the Brits last weekend, but I could feel the forks, stem and bars flexing on the gate.

I wish.

But when I had the wheel up against the gate and stood on the pedals waiting for the gate to drop, I could feel the flex in the front end you don't feel on a new school bike.

Was it new graphs that Billstup was using at MK07? Cos his wheels were flexin all over the place, esp when he was leaning on the start gate.

They sort of have a flip flop, but when I came to fit my ACS freewheel, it would only fit on one side (the other side seemed too small).

i agree with you. mostly ;)

tuffs don't suit new bikes imo
but if some people want to berdoing about with one on the front then best of luck and keep a spare alloy wheel handy.
