PRESS RELEASE
The site that Redditch Skatepark occupies was once home to the first ever BMX race track in the UK. This makes it a massive part of UK BMX History. Since the mid Ninties local riders have been working to put Redditch back on the BMX map where it clearly belongs. Step one was to build one of the largest outdoor Charity run skateparks in the UK. This was achieved 7 years ago. Following on from this success, step 2 is now well under way. This will be an International standard BMX Race Track. Redditch Wheels Project have been joined by Redditch Premiers BMX Club to help make this dream a reality.
The 'Two Seasons' Full Speed Jam is an event for both BMX and Mountain Bikes and will have the usual relaxed format that Redditch events are renouned for. It has been organised to help raise some funds towards the overall cost of the planned BMX Track.
Our Sponsors 'Two Seasons' are getting involved with the event in a big way offering up Prize Money for winners of selected events, with big cheques and a podium style presentation. They are also supplying throw outs and other prizes through out the day. You can check out their trade stand at the event where they will be selling all the latest Apparel and Accessories for lifestyle sports, from Ski & Snowboard to Surf, Wakeboard, Skate, Motor Cross, BMX & Mountain Bike. Check out their website for more info
www.twoseasons.co.uk The Park will be open from around 11.30am and your £5 entrance will allow you to ride the skatepark all day, and includes free entry to all the competitions. Expect a couple of original comps as well as the all the usuals to be thrown in. We will have Music throughout the day including some local bands playing live. The £2 entry fee for spectators will allow you to watch some great riding and listen to some great live bands. All proceeds go to improving the Redditch skatepark site for local and visiting riders of all ages, so come along and support the cause.
We will also be having a collection for the 'Stephen Murray Stay Strong Fund' (for more details see
