One more from the stash - my first build, 85 Haro Master
« on: August 20, 2007, 09:03 PM »
This was the first f&f I came across that got me into collecting bmx, from what I can remember, I'd just been told what ebay was and must of been typing in random stuff and this came up from skatepool xmas 03. Mrs got it for me and thought that would be the end of it, had no intention of building it. That was about 50 bikes ago.....It's changed quite a few times over the years, some of it's original parts ended up on my fst, it normally just ends with with a few left overs on it. It had just all the usual nos stuff that was easy to get at the time, shiners old stock via alan's, skatepool or biagio and twin pinch flights from Amcycle, as there's no mystery or story to it of where it came from I've never really been that bothered about it, there was no hunting involved, just shopping. The hardcore collecting came later I think when I came across rad. Bastards.....lol, it's made me skint and obsessive.....

Thanks again for the positive words - those wheels started off in a right state, tarnished spokes, rims full of deep scratches and right scruffy hubs that wouldn't spin. Stripped them, sanded all the scratches out of the rims and got them powdered. They sat around for a year, had some nos white suzue hubs, put new spokes in, cost about £25 to restore altogether. Peeled the decal off a plate and stuck it on and finished. Had white tuffs on this bike until the other day, wheels were spares so gave them a whirl. I've got some araya aero rims for sale for £35, if anyone wants them powdered though it'll be around another £15.

And Paul , Haven't got any DC clamps for sale sorry, hanging on to what I got until I'm 100% sure I've given up bike building....I'll only regret it and pay over the odds to replace them.

And JT, were about half way through the stash now.....it was a lot worse a few months back, sold quite a few. B&Q that radiator btw, nice powder on it, I'll do a cribs style photo shoot when i run out of bikes, if I spin the camera round you can see where "the magic happens". You'll have to wait til the last saturday of the month though :LolLolLolLol:
