Preston OS Racing 8th September
« on: August 16, 2007, 09:42 PM »
Ladies and Gents,

Right, Jezza and myself met at Preston track tonight and had a chat with the club Chairman and other 'officials'.  They are keen and quite willing to host an Old School race meet on the 8th September as a starter to hopefully something bigger!

The 'meet' would piggyback the weekly gate practice (11 til 2), therefore you can get your eye in prior to the racing!

They have said that there would only be one fee to pay, normally 3 quid, but if we want some trophies sorting then it will be a bit more (suppose it all depends on the number of entrants).

If you could let either myself or Jezza know (or post on here of course) who is interested and likely to make it, or has any other suggestions we would appreciate it as its not going to be much of a race if there's only us two on the gate.  You never know you may even get the chance to race MK's number 1 (if he hasn't got an injury excuse or something - sorry Bof  :daumenhoch:).

Just as another note, the club started coaching sessions this evening which I believe went down well and the intention is to start holding them more regularly after the Brits.

Keep an eye on  the club website for further details  http://www.prestonpiratesbmxclub.com/

Cheers

Cotty

Just a little bump folks.

Spoke with the club folks again tonight and they are well up for it and want to help get some OS racing going in the North.

The club have registered the meet with the BCF for insurance purposes and medics will be on hand (with oxygen etc!)

The club have also volunteered trophies for the top three.

And as Russ has said above the Lytham folks are quite keen to get involved and help get it going - they've even got the old school gate!!

Cheers

Somrthing I missed off before is that you're gonna need a plate.  If you don't have one you could either make a special little beauty from a paper plate, or alternatively JTSmooth will be bringing a small range with him that may be purchased! :daumenhoch:
