10mm drop-outs to 14mm

i have some hoffman forks coming that have 10mm drop-outs,can they be re-drilled to 14mm
is it hard to do or could any machine shop do it?
or am i better off getting new forks?

shouldn't be all that difficult, depends if there is enough meat on the dropouts though as to whether they will be strong enough, decent pillar drill should do it  :daumenhoch:

just get a 14 mm axle that is flat ie 10 mm

yep, definitely enough meat on these forks, (about 6mm thick) they'll be spot on after being cut.

just be really careful when you cut :daumenhoch:

mark twice and cut once, remember if you get it even a millimetre out it'll translate to alot more at the top of the wheel, leaving your front wheel constantly out of alignment!

if possible try not to touch the top inside of the slot where the axle actually rests, just open the sides enough :daumenhoch:
