That combi pool was so unbeleivably difficult to ride.  I tried it in 84 and intentionally missed the 85 event in the combi because all I could do in that bowl was roll-in and roll-out.  My aerials in that bowl barely reached coping, three feet of pure vert.

i was thinking just how hard that bowl looked the whole way through....must of been like riding up  brick wall

I think even the best riders today would struggle in Del Mar, how the heck they even got out the top of that is amazing!

but he was more exciting to watch than Fiola

That bowl must be an absolute bitch to ride

Del Mar, legendary skate park and a pool skaters dream not really suited to BMX and I think it really showed there.
