my axles are too short
« on: November 13, 2005, 06:02 PM »
i got some new(ish)school suzue sealed hubs laced into black box rims on my rider

thing is, the axles are only just long enough to get the nuts on. no room for peggage

anybody got a link to a shop that sells longer axles that fit these hubs?

or better yet, got some axles going? they are 10mm

Threaded bar is not strong enough, unless you get high tensile/high carbon stuff. The normal stuff is like margarine. :o

Ruler, I think Suzue made the Peregrine hubs. If so, Standard Industries make a super good extra long axle for 'em.  Give Custom Riders a call, they carry all the Standard goods and know a great deal about hubs 'n stuff.  :)

Seconded. the Standards were heat-treated, lengthy and stronger than Peregrine's own.
All my axles had to be replaced eventually (6 wheels in all) due to dropouts getting beefier and pegs becoming bolt-ons. Just make sure you get the right one for your hub, sealed or non-sealed.
