This one has taken a while, a new scoot for my lad
« on: August 11, 2007, 03:11 PM »
As some of you know, I like to take my time with my builds and I've nearly finished putting a little new school race GT together for my lad.  Still got to sort the brake out and get the chain on but I'm in need of a couple of little washers for the front fork dropouts, they are like little tophat washers in 10mm if anyone has any or know where to get some  :daumenhoch:

Some big thanks fo a few people for helping me out on this:

Moschops (f&f and most of the parts)
DJ Benice (although the tyres didn't fit as not enough clearance on the forks)
Ruler (his tyres do fit!)
Banaramaman (wheels - see they did come in handy afterall)
Some fella off BMXtalk for the bars (sorry can't remember his name but TDB picked them up for me)
My mate Colin (for letting me use his workshop to polish the cranks & pedal bodies, for getting the pedal cages powder coated and for machining the rims to a "shineside" stylee  :daumenhoch: )

I think it's come out really well and has an old school look to it  :daumenhoch: .

Here's how I got it...

Here's how it looks now...

It kind of matches my GT24...

Going to take him to Hayes tomorrow so he can see first hand what it's all about; I might take the bike with him as he's going to need to get used to it as he only came off stabilisers a couple of months ago  :daumenhoch:

marty  if he freestyles he will get endless supply of pot noodle,  as many free goes on gorf or galaxian ;D

only old skoolers will remember these games :-[  so sad >:D

and get to hang with the true old skool leg ends that is pat and stupps :)

how kool is that for a kid  :-\ :-\

but the down side is that most of the freestyle riders are always drunk, stoned or just wrong ;D

now the racing guys are slick, fit, train at least once a week,  if i was his dad i would choose.

freestle any day ;D :4_17_5:

You must have been starving to eat that crap :buck2:

My advice for the dad is dont spend too much too soon; my eldest at 6 raced for 10 months last year and then decided he dont want to anymore. wallet £600 lighter
So we are now going to rOm in the morning.
