Old School Racing - Preston
« on: August 08, 2007, 10:08 PM »
After having a TOP weekend at MK I was talking to the Chairman of the Preston Pirates BMX Club (Shaun Calvert) last night and telling him about the whole event and the number of riders that turned up.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that he is quite keen to get OS racing going at the club and would support it in any way he could.  There was mention of funds being stumped up by the club, if the 'series/events' were to become a well supported feature.

Let me know how much interst there would be for this in 'North Region' terms, or even if there was to be a National OS Series that the club could get involved with.

Cheers
Cotty

we do need to get this whole old school racing kicking off all over the country :daumenhoch:i thought the racing at mk was top notch and must admit i was a bit suprised at how fookin fast and skilful some people were.....doing the southern summer series i got to know how all the others perform but at mk we had a lot of peaople i'd never raced before and they were fast :daumenhoch:it felt like a proper regional/national of 20 odd years ago :4_17_5:so lets get this old school kicked off all over the country

I agree with Lee, we need every region to get its own series going, only then can we have national events :daumenhoch:
A long time ago, in a land far away!

I'd certainly make the trip to Preston if I'm not working.  Wife's cousin lives in Bolton so anywhere around NW would be cool.  I'm sure some of my fellow countrymen could be persuaded to come down too  :)
