Thinking of selling up
« on: August 08, 2007, 12:35 PM »
hi all

I'm seriously considering selling my RS1.  After going round the track at MK I'm convinced I'm never going to have the nerve to race again.  I'm not 100% sure whether I will actually sell it or moth ball it yet, I'm just thinking about it.  Do any of you guys wake up some mornings and think, "I'm going to sell everything, it's wasted on me, I'm never going to use it"?  If I decide to sell, would anyone be interested, in bits or as a whole?

Here's a pic (difference is it has a blue 901 brake now):

With repro pads

Dont sell it!! :uglystupid2:

I've just found you guys after 20 odd years out of the sport and I am so glad I still have my original bike. I didn't think BMX would hook me as much as it has after so long, maybe once you've got the feeling it never leaves.  :'(

Even if you just look at it until the feeling comes again! :daumenhoch:

keep hold lou, you'd be suprised how quickly you can get a bit of confidence after a couple of jollies round a quiet track ;)

Just dig out a copy of bmx bandits and watch it, that usually gets the buzz going again !!

Where did you get the pads from ?

you can't give up after one go....

come on, sort yourself out!  get out on your bike a few more times before making a decision like that.
you had better change your mind before TwoBobRob sees this...

Hi there Lou...basically just to follow on from what the other Radsters have said, don't sell it....even keep it as a keep sake, they don't take up much room.

We all have our off days, I've been there and then after a re-think I'm glad I kept my stuff and then just do my own thing riding wise despite being pants (and I like the dressing up bit 8) ) Stick with it Lou :daumenhoch:

PS: Was nice to meet you at MK :daumenhoch:

Paul :)

hi guys

Thanks for all the replies.  The general consensus seems to be don't sell and I must admit, the more I think about selling it, the more I feel I'd miss the thing.  I must also admit, I like having it as an ornament and giving it the odd polish  ::).  Think I will wrap it in cotton wool and put it in the attic.  I'm quite fond of that little bike and a certain person helped me get started with that build and advised me throughout and I'd feel I'd be letting him down, too.

thanks again everyone

lou

p.s. If I do sell it, 'fraid the cranks are sold already  :LolLolLolLol:

Don't give up Lou - it's not about keeping up with the others, it's all about having fun doing what you want to do. Just have fun riding around the track and don't get caught up in the competition.

Stay rad Lou and don't give up!

Lou,

Whatever you do dont give it up, all you need is some quality track time to build your confidence, i'm sorry we didn't get a chance at MK to poodle and manual, but tell me where you can get to and we can meet up for practise.

Keep the faith babe :daumenhoch:
