Whats best for cleaning rims?

Got some wheels that need a bit of a clean, just need to remove some brake pad marks. Whats the best thing to use?

Start with some wet n dry fine sandpaper to remove the brake crap then use a worn out piece to finely polish out the marks. A blob of autosol if you want the to gleam. Buff buff buff......  ;)
