Chain tensioner on Skyway TA
« on: July 29, 2007, 09:11 PM »
I have waited 2 years to complete my TA and want to get it right. I want to fit old school chain tensioners, should the 'washer' go in or outside the drop out?

I think they should go on the outside, if it's inside I would need force the drop outs apart a bit.

Cheers

Cheers, I think I will do the same. Running them on the inside would take too much force.

Fitted them the right way, but the right one slightly touches the freewheel.  :(

So I only run the left one. Pity that. But it still works.

could you stash a washer either side to slightly space it out?

if the freewheel is fouling the tensioner, make sure it isn't also catching the dropout

Thanks, I could use washers but it's tight as it is. Do want to force the drop outs too much on the old TA.
