Garden Miniramp almost finished!
« on: December 24, 2007, 06:50 PM »
ok no where near done, but have been digging loads over the last week, as my garden is on a hill and its chalk!, i even roped the father in law to help, i told him it was going to be a decked area >:D small white lie. Gona try and get it done for spring

The size is 25ft long x 16ft wide and 5ft high, so its tight but should be enough to nibble about on, prob gona have a 1ft deck one side and a 3ft deck the other side, that only leaves 8ft flat bottom, if that sounds daft let me know!

Heres some free wood i have got so far, need loads more, if anyone know where i can get some more please help  :daumenhoch:

what size transition are you going for, be careful you don't build it too tight

8ft of flat is fine.  If you're actually building an 8ft flat section to go in there, then it'll ride like 9ft of flat as the very beginnings of the trannys are virtually flat themselves.

Charlton has 11ft of flat and is over 5ft high. And that rides relatively slow compared to say, Epic's miniramp.  Yours will feel a bit like that, but quicker as you have quite a tight transition at 7ft.  You could go 6'9", but I'd not go any tighter than that if I were you. Especially brakeless!!!!     ;D

ok cool, sounds alreet then!, might even get a bit more flat bottom, as have started hacking the hedges to thin them out as they are about 4ft wide

might even build a raised up mini mini ramp that will sit on the grass bit above the ramp, might be fun :)

yep sesh at my gaff in the summer :daumenhoch:

Are the neighbours cool with this Rich, i know of a few garden
ramps that have had to come down cos of complaints about
noise and the planning application crap, dont mean to be a
downer but its alot of work to go tits up. Have a look at the
os section over on BMXTALK theres a post with a pic of a guy
in a Hot Wheels- Whitehawk top from Farnham is it you?
