How do you measure the rise on bars?

A - centre to centre
B - base to top of cross bar
C - base to top of bar

I've often wondered. My old GT 4 piece bars were apparently 8" rise but were definitely bigger than the 8" rise Berringer bars I've got now.

I remember the 9" and 10" GT power series bars back in the 80's were massive !

I thought C'ish' - from the bottom to the cross bar - middle or top or maybe bottom.

I even got two spirit levels & tape measure out to try and get an exact from mid bar out to match it to the top centre of grip level.

The nearest i could get to 7" on the wing bars would coincide with Kev's pic in as much as the 7 is where they start to bend out from the centre of the stem clamp area.

The fine art i aquired from my dad is by smelling the lenth of the rise or the lenth of the top tube  ;) ;D
