Brake Cable
« on: July 22, 2007, 03:41 PM »
Ok... i am a New School Boon  ;D
I need some advice on the best brake cable to get for my Avent Race bike... I am running a Shimano DX lever and an Odyssey A brake. Can anyone recommend a good cable please with the right shape/size nipples and ferrules? Many Thanks  :daumenhoch:

Can't you just run any cable?  Clarks Powerglide have always been my fav but you'd need to change the ferrell for an MTB type one and that#s about it.  Just about any regular inner cable will work, reckon this one might look good on your Avent but you would need to change the inner to a BMX type one...

Thanks m8.... I am not sure a standard nippled cable will fit... i think the shape you have pictured might be the one i need.
I have a Red and Black new school Shimano DX lever.

They usually come with both types and you cut off the one you don't need, but check before you order - the guys at CRC are great and very helpful  :daumenhoch:

A normal one will fit Andy, there is a little plastic flap on the rear of the lever blade that you lift up and the nipple sits behind it  :daumenhoch:

I use either Shimano cables or Odyssey slick cables

 :) DINGO :)

daz bmx it!
