the wording REDLINE is in a different font to the later one's ie: It is rounder, (like bubble writing) rather than the later straight edge REDLINE writing version - if that makes any sence ??

best person to ask is RATTY (Tony) - he's the 'FONT' (excuse the pun) when is comes to everything redline

if me memory serves me

redline ran with this "bubble script" font as their company logo

from 76 to 82/83

where they changed to the more modern futuristic logo
and changed the colours from red/black/white to red/black/grey

although the script on the chainrings changed around the early 90,s

is this right ron burgundy?

I've seen a good condition one not polished go for around the £50 mark, polished around £75 but that was on gaybay  :daumenhoch:

I do tend to agree with you there Ron, I have one of each, a polished one and OE - the OE one is the one I have kept from bitd so it's 100% OE and owned by me for the last 25 years  :daumenhoch:  the polished one is for a later build I am doing so it should really be the later script but I like the bubble script so opted for that.

Hey fellas.
With all these bubble script chainwheels floating around below the surface, it'd be nice to be given the nod if any become available in 42-44t.
I've a later, polished 45t one here. But it doesn't fit my build era.  Thanx  ;)  G.
