this poor old s&m dirt bike was listed on e-bay as "gents bicycle frame"  :LolLolLolLol:

we'll soon restore a bit of dignity to her :daumenhoch:

its a "1 (SMD 9323) and looks like it could have been yellow originally :smitten:

thanks alot to alex for the advice on I.D'ing it :daumenhoch:

Nice. Looks like its in OK nick under the paint and rust. Those drop outs look very good.

Im guessing that they are solid drop outs (not 2 stuck together) and the "brake mount" upper brace is a plate, not a tube?

I will add the frame number to the 1" s&m's list.

Thats a mk2 dirtbike. I dont think they changed much after that type so its a later one. Some of the earlier mk2s had plate brases top and bottom (not tubes), and Ive got a mk2 without a headtube / downtube gusset?

would that make it around 95/97?

one of the drops is a little ragged on the edge but with a bit of work it should come up ok!

Yeah, something like that. They were making that style of frame earlier (93 I guess) but that is a large frame number so its gotta be a later one.

Man, I blinked my eye and all the paint just fell off your dirtbike!!!!

Yeah, Ive started taking note of S&M frame numbers (1" only). Ive got about 25 so far. Not a bad start. EL CID, let me know what you got and I'll add them to the list.
