1985 Haro Sport factory blue paint
« on: July 13, 2007, 09:45 PM »
Hello all,

I have a set of haro freestyle bars and layback seatpost I recently had re-powdered to have matched (attempted) to my NOS 85 sport blue F+F and unfortunately the bars are off (see pics below).  Is there anyone in the world who has the exact match paint/powder or as close as humanly possible?  Or would anyone have a set of NOS blue 85 bars they would be willing to sell?

Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Danny

Or even C4 Labs  ::)  :LolLolLolLol:

Difficult one, might be worth trying a local paint shop or powder coaters to see if you can get hold of a RAL code chart to try and get a btter match, although it's very difficult to get an exact match from a colour that has been printed rather than powdered; getting a sample of the actual colour is definitely the way to go to get the best match.  Might be worth dropping SuperbikeDan a line as he may well have done a blue Haro Sport before or might be able to point you in the right direction  :daumenhoch:.

Dan, sorry mate, I keep pointing peeps your way, but you are the powdercoat Master  ;D.

I tried C4 Labs.  Chip actually did these bars.  I'm in Canada and gave him a shot as his reputation with haro's is very good.  Unfortunately the colour was off.

He was good enough to refund me the cost of the job since they didn't match.  Stand up guy.

Is SuperbikeDan in the UK?

Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for us, yes.  :)

to my eye it looks like he's used ral 5012 light blue on the bars, what ral code was it that he used?

ral 5015 sky blue looks a few shades closer,
