How do I remove spray paint from tuffs?

I was wondering if it is possible to remove silver spray paint from a set of black tuffs,not sure what to use incase it "bites" into the rims,anyone had any experience at this?

try diesel and soft plastic scourers or brillo pads go easy at first wear gloves
