i prefer trying to air on a proper quarter with a bit of vert on it.  on mini's you have to pull out too much to stop hanging up.

So, is that your target for tonight at Charlton?

to be quite honest, i'm not that fussed about trying to air at charlton anymore.  i didn't really want to ride mini's when i got back into riding as i wanted to ride something with a bit of vert.  charlton is just a bit of fun.

i am riding some.  i'll be at charlton tonight.

but my point is, that when i got back into riding, the only thing i wanted to be able to do was airs.  it is harder to air on a mini than on a quarter pipe.  i've recently learnt peg stalls and feebles and have even done the volcano, but none of that stuff will give me the same buzz i'll get when i learn to air properly.

Trev,  I was known for kickturns and nowt else when I first rode.  I came back to riding wanting to be a vert rider.  Wanting to do airs. So I built a vert ramp and rode it. When that ended, I found another vert ramp and rode that. When I didnt go there I found another park with a vert ramp and I rode there.....

Do you see a pattern forming?

Buy yourself a fullface lid and get yourself to fooking Skaterham.   :knuppel2:

Unless you can find a vert 1/4 pipe somewhere thats 8ft high or higher, it's time to put your money where your mouth is on a vert ramp.

Once you're halfway decent on vert then you can call miniramp a bit of fun......   ;)     :angrysoapbox:

See you tonight.  :)

Bowls is a bit of fun.

Tiddlywinks is a bit of fun.

Picking peanuts out of poo is a bit of fun.

But if you are going to call Charlton a 'bit of fun', what does that make your sessions at Rom?  or your roadtrips to other parks?

The other night at Legacy you all had a twist session remember?  out of that wee 1/4 pipe at the end of the park.  You all got a good sweat on, you all crashed a few times and got up, and you pulled some really nice 360s.  You put the work in and got the reward.  In my book, thats the fun.

You'll seldom see me riding and not grinning through the session, it's a fun thing to do, but bloody hard work.

Perhaps I just thought you were being a little condescending y'know?  I call Rom my 'fun' session, but I still try hard when I'm there.  I'm just a bit allergic to concrete these days so I'm not likely to try owt big there...

I think what I'm trying to say is you will never, ever learn to air with 'a bit of fun' attitude.  We're too old, life is too short sadly.  :'(
