Aaah, you remember my Mini Ripper restoration thread then  :P

It's a really sweet looking bike and really dinky sitting next to the Ripper XL. I would like to see more of them but the only one I can find is in the musuem at VintageBMX.com

Must be pretty rare and apparently the Mini Ripper was more expensive to buy than the full size looptail Ripper BITD   ???

daz bmx it!

It's a Ripper XL which replaced the earlier looptail and ALL the old problem areas were modified and beefed up. It's a longer frame too so the taller riders don't suffer knocking their knees out on the bars

Powder coat is my 1st choice but then I may get the paint gun out and do it myself. Black F+F with gold components. I have bought the decals and loads of other bitz

Xmas is coming now so I guess it will have to stay in its box until after then  :(

Yeah,i am building one at the mo.Its in my mates factory being welded. There was a tiny crack appearing in the usual place along the seat post.Turns out my mate works for an aluminium specialist that make tanks and pontoon bridges for the army...handy  ;D.
I think the blue scheme is EXCELLENT.I love the burnished frame look, but i think i'll have to paint mine,i think its had a bit too much abuse in its past to come up as lovely as yours.  :'(
Well done,it takes a lot of effort to re-build as nicely as that.(i am finding this out, with my ripper and my Aero pro team burner).
Just got my Rippers arayas tho (cheers Greg).
My wife decided to scrape the whole near side, side of our car against my dads the other day(only for the THIRD time). My car is a dark metallic blue, not too disimilar to the original colour of my Ripper,so i am toying with the idea of killing two birds with one stone and getting them both sprayed at the same time.
However, this may be a bit un-authentic (making words up now).So i'll have think about it.
Cant find Se PW bars anywhere so a gt set from Vert-ego my have to suffice for now.
Well done again...will you ride it tho?? Too shiny and new?? :'(

This was a pretty simple build in PK Ripper terms

The frame and fork were NOS and I am the first to build the bike up so it's in perfect condition. How jammy is that then

I did originally build the Ripper to ride but now it's complete I have changed my mind. I now have to decide between using my Skyway TA or my Quad Freestyler instead. Only trouble is they are both mint too  :-\

I feel another build coming on  ???

Thanks mate  :)

I prefer the Ripper XL to the earlier looptails as they're a much better looking frameset in my opinion

I have seen your own PK in the RAD Museum. Nice bike too  :D

Cheers

Steve
