Members opinion of Graphite Tuffs
« on: June 16, 2007, 07:39 PM »
I am thinking about buying Graphite Tuffs for the TA that will be finished soon.  :)
I want to hit a few race tracks and  maybe venture down to MK07. I was thinking the black Graphites would be good since they are meant to be stronger than regular tuffs, more era correct, plus black is more practical since white tuffs are murder to keep clean.
Are they really a lot stronger/stiffer? What do the members here think of them?
I would also run them on the new school bike as the axles can be changed to 14mm. I would like to think they would be a lot stiffer than regular tuffs on ramps as well.
Cheers

Did Bob Haro not run white graphites?

This pic is small but you can just make out the gold hub in the front wheel. Maybe Skyway made them especially since he ran black ones on his Gen 1. Or did he just like having gold hubs on regular tuffs to be different?

Yep, Skyway made white skyways with gold hubs but they were not graphite due to the make up of the material it cannot be coloured, it is always dark black or dark grey, more info here on wikipedia...

I ran them on this:-

which IMO was one of my best ever builds and they ran great for everything except out and out racing as I couldnt put the 80psi I use in my tyres for racing  :uglystupid2:

 :) DINGO :)

if you can get the psi in them they will be fine
never be as good as a set of alloys though.

set of araya aeros will look more "era correct" on that TA than new school mag wheels!

Cool.......
They would look absolutely great on your TA.
I'm looking for a apir myself for a TA I'm building, nightmare to find a gen pair.
Best of luck, it will look fine.

Thanks for all the comments fellas.

While spoked wheels look great on a TA I am going for the Skyway racing team look, like Richie Anderson. I might run a set of Ukais or Arayas for show, but Graphites will be more robust on the track.
