if the post is stuck fast, it's gonna get mauled

try clamping a stem to the top part of the post. if it gets a bit chewed then you could always cut the top inch off

Try heating the frame up with a blow tourch where the seat post goes.  :daumenhoch:

The only bike I ever failed on was a Performer and oddly enough, it was an 84 Pro Performer.

so, I take it the post s snapped off inside the frame with no pertrusions?

I saved a GT one from a redline that I could not budge.

I went at it with loads of petrol to clean up any of the crap in the tube and left it for a while.

Then went and washed it out with petrol again.

Then I went nuts with penetrating oil and WD40 and left the bike to sit.

Head Bolt out of a Peugeot XU engine, grind off the collar below the 55-Torx head so it only just fits inside the seat post. Once it has gone past the end of the post, move it to the side so it is catching on the lip at the bottom

Attach Slide Hammer.

Evenly tap all the way round over and over again. it will eventually let go.

I it is not out within the hour, more penetrating oil and leave it over night.

Try again next night.

Remember, not a lot of force as you will bugger the seat post at the bottom, and take your time.

(the head bolt out of a Peugeot is not essential, but they are strong and fit correctly)

(i think one from a ford CVH will fit too)

nice one orb i'll give that a try, i've got loads of pug bits around as i used to race them so thats handy lol

i don't think it snapped of, it looks like it got stuck and because they could'nt get it out they just cut it down and wedged a larger post over the top and then double clamped it :buck2:

i'll dig it out the loft and post a pic soon,

thank's
