Hi Radsters :daumenhoch:

I was havin a little practice at the Epic meet last Saturday and have now got it sorted, but I don't know what the trick is called, by the way it's nowt spectacular.

You stay seated in a stationery posistion
Turn the handlebars 90deg so the wheel is facing side on
Hold the back brake
Then place your feet atop the wheel either side of the forks then balance or move left or right

Told you it's nowt special, but what is it called, so I can add it too my lenghty list of tricks (roll backs, endos and kickturns) :LolLolLolLol:

Cheers

Paul :)

I can't remember what we used to call it either.....

I think it was called log rolling if you did it standing on the front wheel from the other side, or did I just make that up? pretty sure it was in the haro freestyle book too...

still working on that pesky rock walk without a front brake here.....

it's just a variation of a wheel stand.  i don't think it ever had it's own name.  there were so many different variations of it, only a few had their own names.

Could always do no front brake rock walks bitd, before freestyle really took off and front brakes came back onto the bikes.....

Used to kinda start carving a turn, then do a 180 bunny hop but without lifting the bars for the first bit..... then either use the rear brake or just kick down on the pedal to do the flip round at the end.....

Problem I got is I remember doing them at pretty high speed, and the confidence just ain't there yet to go for it..... especially on a new school as those fookers got way faster steering than I ever remember.....

For me freestyle really was the thing in around 83! My bikes always had a front brake (ok so they didn't hardly work) but I'd never have tried a rockwalk minus front brake :-[

Hats off to ya fella ;)

original rock walks were supposed to be done without brakes.

Are we talking about the same thing ere, Pivot 180 on the front wheel then 180 on the back?!

I always used a front brake for that, if you guys weren't, I do believe thats magnificent :D

yep, thats the one.  doing it slow, you'd use your brakes.  but if you were going quickly, then it's actually easier without brakes.
