not sure on the history of the "Extra Light Frames" but they was well respected in the US, top frames, has pedigree in 70s old school and connected, i think, to Boss and Creation, great build quality but not the rage over here.

im chasing one now (double cross) because they are fookin lush and not in vogue at the mo and quirky as fook

I bought an ELF a while back just for the PPP power disc that it had on it. It was a pro (not a 'double-cross') and was a really sweet frameset. Wish I'd have kept it, it would have been perfect for MK.

:LolLolLolLol:  It's had a bit of a make over since I got it from Daz too, new fat & thin skinwall Comp 3's, Black Nitto Headset, alloy headlock/flex fighter, Elina FlyteTech seat, Pitbrake, Ame grips, Suntour seat clamp, Sugino 1pce & Odyssey pedals  :daumenhoch:  Got a profile stem and a Pitbull lever to go on it too sometime soon.

Heres a bit Elf/S&M info

Chris Moeller at S&M bought alot of the old machines and equipment used for making the Elf range over years. When S&Mstarted making more and more of there gear inhouse as apposed to down the road they bought all the kit of the owner of Elf. So Elf frames are long gone but much of the equipment used to build them is turning out that great gear down at S&M.

Not really that interesting but hey.  ;)

elf were first around in the early 80's and never really took off, but they seemed to get popular again around 87-88, this seemed to happen to a few u.s. brands. i.e. you never saw them advertised in us mags but they seemed to sell well here. e.g. thruster, cyclecraft, powerlite etc.

anyway, hotwheels were doing these frames really cheap at the time as i believe they were nos (yes, back then) and i wanted one, however another dude in my club heard i wanted one and pipped me to the post. :'( it cheered me up tho when he split it right down the front of the headtube. :daumenhoch:
