Just after some Mongoose Decade Info
« on: June 12, 2007, 12:35 AM »
Hi all :daumenhoch:

I'm hope to be purchasing a Mongoose Decade (I don't think it's the Pro) frame and forks of Stuntmaster Paul at MK but in the meantime was just seeking any info about these. I've seen some pics on the web but I have some questions/requests if anyone could help as I don't really know much about them:

Were they complete bikes when sold or just frame and forks?
If they were complete bikes, does anyone know what parts came with the Decade?
Does anyone have any press adverts or mag pics from BITD?
And does anybody on Rad own one?

Folks, I'm not expecting all the above to be answered but any info would be great. Basically what I would like to do is try and reproduce an authentic correct era bike. At the moment, my present builds have been a mish mash of parts but would like for once to try and get at least one build spot on.

Many thanks in advance ;)

Paul :)

List of parts advised by rad members so far:
6 spoke skyways
SR Spintech rotor/stem
dc fs880 front brake
dc centrepull rear brake

from what i know they came as a complete bike with SR spintech rotor and six spoke OE skyway mags as mentioned. there was also a spoked version. they had a dc fs880 front brake and a dc centerpull rear brake. i think the the colours for 87 were white, chrome, blue and a teal. the pro version in 87 was purple and chrome. the 88 pro was black and chrome.

will find some pics of one i had

Oh right Paul, that's great :4_17_5:, I didn't even know that. I'm still dead keen on buying it, especially after looking at the pics posted up :smitten: I think I'll enjoy this build more trying to source parts as well. Do you have any history on it?

Quimrider, I can't believe you got rid of yours :(

mattnice, I like the look of the peppermint green Decade you posted up, seen that one before but the pro below it in pink looks as cool :daumenhoch:

Mmmm decisions decisions ::)
