Skyway Hub repair. Go on, give it a go!!!!!

Well I got 2 sets of Tuffs with bent hubs, so the time came to change all that. Im not fussed on replacment hubs cause of the bolts. so had a go at making a puller. Made it out of the top of an old suspension strut off my golf and a large nut and bolt. It seems to work a treat and if you pull it out too far, a tap with a hammer and a lump of wood sorts it out. Just got to make sure its all level now and will see how it runs. Just thought I would share my new found skill of wheel repair, lol.    The first pic is of how bent it was the last pic you can see how much better it looks. Lovely!!

Did a similar method then used them tuffs hard infact i did my one and only 540 tyre tap with said tuff with no probs at all

Yea, still plenty of strength there. Even though they use to bend, its strong alloy. Ok not as strong as fitting a new one, but would with stand some abuse I reckon. If Orb likes this, do I get a gold star for effort?

Hey Marcus postie luvvin the bike cos he's hanging on to it. Well it was sunny today, apparently it's at national distribution centre wherever that is. Red van driving bastards.

That's class. How does it hold on to the hub to pull it out over?

Bren, it holds on with a washer and nut. I ground a washer down so it just fits through the gaps in the sides of the hub. Then push the nut through the axle hole on the other side. Jiggle it all about till its centred and then you can screw it all together. It takes a lot of force to pull it out though. Only problem is you can't see how much it has moved till you take it all off.
