Old Age BMX-ism?

I've just rode home in the pitch black along the low cliff tops path by the sea on me cruiser comming home from me Dads place after a night with him on the sauce up the pub and all i can think is 'this is what it's all about'. beats the old ride home through sunny Crayford.

It's fooking great here, apart from the fact that i've lost the will to ride.....

Since i moved here my bmx riding has dried up. I used to ride 2-3 times a week at me old place but now i'm lucky if i get out once a month. so in reality this year has been a major downer for your getting back in the saddle Kind of stuff.

Although i'm itching to get out i'm struggling to find people to ride with. The only real motivation i had, probably as much as i was to the people i rode with, is friends that rode. i knew that i could hit the trails and find someone their i could have a giggle with that had no preconceptions and it was all good. i said it before that it was like going down the pub. Like there were always the locals that welcomed you in.

We have a big scene here in Herne bay and i know i should be working harder to find my nieche. i was one of the early players in the dartford old skool crowd and we built it up together where as here i'm just another old bloke with all the gear and no idea.

So what should i do? fook knows....

Well if nobody here is near you all I can say is,just get out there on your bike!!  :daumenhoch:
I can say almost for certain you'll come across somebody while riding around, somebody that will see an old school bike & stop ya.Even if it's just to check out the bike, they may say hey there's a group of guys over here that are into old school stuff, maybe you should go check it out.
Next thing ya know you find a group of old schoolers who don't do the net thing, you tell them about RAD & they freak out & the rest is history. :daumenhoch:

I've come across a few people that way. :)

aye up mr zappa, find a spot where the bmxers are and start riding round them in a big circle about 1000 yards diametre and each day gradually lessen the diametre until one day you crash into one of them and then you can tell them about your kids, dweezel and moonunit. :LolLolLolLol:

its not easy ridin on your own as it doesnt spur you on to progress, i often go up the track by myself but i love a bit of competion, it just pushes you that little bit further.

sounds cool where you live tho dude, wanna try livin up norf like us, no one darn sarf ever bothers coming up this neck of the woods which is their loss as our track is fookin superb.

Meet up at Hersden and get some practice in. I'm not sure if they still do gate practice but we could always jump the fence with all the other locals. :LolLolLolLol:

I'm in the same boat Bob. I'm in the nicest town in aust and nobody here to ride with! Thank god for the internet. I'd have no clue whats goin on without it.
Now I just ride with my kids and I've started to get some of the boys at work interested in their old bikes.
